What is a "Lyrical Biography"?
Why do we call it, "Lyrical Biography"? This type of biography features highlights of a subject's life- those specific occasions that give shape and meaning to his or her life. It is presented through photographs and written in a manner that allows the author to interject insight and opinion. This comes from the author's ability to get to know the subject and significant others. These insights might be comical or inspiring in nature.
Writing A Lyrical Biography . . .
Gloria began writing what she has coined, "Lyrical Biography" in 2009 when she documented the life of a 92-year old Georgia woman named Wilma.++ The project began as a labor of love to present as a gift to Wilma's daughter, Janet. This "secret project" betwe
en Gloria and Wilma evolved over the course of two months allowing Wilma to share the many anecdotes and musings about her life. Several conversations and scanning of numerous photographs enabled Gloria to write Wilma's lyrical biography.
In addition to a hardcover book, a DVD was created, which put Wilma on camera to share her story highlights. What better a legacy is there than documenting the stories directly from she who lived them? On the DVD, she even sings some of her favorite church songs- one of her beloved pastimes. Both book and companion DVD were presented to Janet at Christmas.

In addition to writing the lyrical biography, an optional DVD is also available. We can put the subject on camera if he or she would like to share insights about their life and create a live-action legacy.*
