Meet The Author

Gloria Behrle . . .

Swee'pea Tales Treasury Volume 1 Fun and Friendship is the first book written and illustrated by Gloria Behrle. She has enjoyed nearly thirty years of success in teaching and writing training programs in the home furnishings industry. When her daughter Monica was born in 1996, she was so moved by the experience that she decided to turn her attention to writing stories that appeal to children.

In addition to writing the stories, she thoroughly enjoyed the element of making the characters come to life by doing her own illustrations. She has always enjoyed drawing as a hobby. This goes back to her portrait drawings of family and friends in her early high school days.

This first limited edition is her first professional accomplishment as a published author and illustrator.

Inspiration Beyond the Stories. . .

During the writing and illustration of the Swee'pea tales, Gloria realized that children would love to have special toys and and gifts that reminded them of their favorite storybook characters. From these whimsical characters came the launch of a complementary product line that includes toys, totes and apparel.

A Dream. . .

Gloria loves to read her stories to children and has entertained many with props and theatrics. She delights in the enthusiastic reaction to the adventures of Swee'pea and Peapoddy. Her goal is to promote the sweet innocence of childhood that has become more difficult to find in our world today. Her stories focus on the simplicity of discovery, learning and above all, the friendship that comes with experiencing life's little lessons with someone special.

Just as she has found love and comfort in her own real life 'Swee'pea', her dream is that these bright and playful stories will enhance this same love and comfort in parents, grandparents or anyone who has a special child.

It is her belief that every child . . . . is a Swee'pea!
